There are many contributors to this project, and it wouldn't exist without any of them. Every team member has a role to play, and it is essential to route the appropriate concerns or problems to the right team member. These are descriptions of each position; these are not Credits.

The Project Lead is responsible for the overall delivery and direction of the project. They cannot do everything themself, so they employ Development Leads for action items in specific domains. Lastly, the Project Lead is conferred that title by a consensus of Development Leads. A Development Lead can simultaneously be the Project Lead in the absence of a PL.

The Code and Build Leads are responsible for developing and implementing scripts, systems, and builds. They approve, validate, and implement any modifications, additions, or removals of content from the persistent world. Code and Build Leads establish the standards of quality assurance and control for their respective domains.

The Dungeon Master Lead is accountable for the overall management and conduct of DMs who enrich the players’ experience. They are responsible for ensuring DMs execute planned events and issue fair rewards and punishments. They assess, recruit, train and validate all DMs on tools and procedures. The DM Lead is generally accountable for sentencing players for violations of Community Standards and Metagaming misconduct, and is generally the final authority on character Permadeath.

The Story Lead is responsible for caring for the Haze Setting and its lore. They are responsible for long-term narrative planning, weaving stories and plots with player-driven initiatives and backstories, and answering gaps in understanding for DMs and players alike. They are responsible for advising the Development Leads on canon and matters of retroactive continuity to assure the narrative is synchronized with the overall project.

A Dungeon Master is responsible for assuming the role of the game session master, or referee, and is responsible for providing environmental context, controlling and manipulating non-player characters, orchestrating non-lethal and lethal encounters, and generally administering matters while on the server, such as helping players troubleshoot issues. A DM is responsible for preparation before each session and must thoroughly understand the Community Standards, House Rules, and In-game Mechanics. A DM is always identified in-game by (DM) before their username.

A Community Helper is a community member who has opted to work with the staff to ensure the project moves smoothly. They can be Discord or forum moderators, in-house developers, artists, server administrators, sound designers, coders, and other contributors.
